With hollow forged aluminium arms and a 7075 spindle, the Afterburner is a high-performance alloy triple crankset. Many riders still favour three chainrings, allowing a huge gear range without big jumps between ratios. The crankarms use the same construction as the double units, with a deep cross-section for great power transfer. CNC-machined 7075 is used for the outer ring, with the other two rings being either stamped 7075 or heat-treated chromoly steel. As well as 44/32/22 and a close-ratio 42/32/24 for mountain bikes, there’s also a 48/36/26 option for trekking bikes or tourers.
