Ashton’s Road Bike Party 2 Goes Viral!
Martyn celebrates by announcing that three more films will be released
Martyn Ashton’s phenomenal road bike stunt riding film, Road Bike Party 2, has gone viral around the world, so far notching up over 3.6 million views, 41,672 Likes, and 6,694 Comments – all in just three days.
The dramatic story behind the film’s making, which was almost derailed after Martyn was paralysed during a trials demo, has captured the imagination of viewers across the globe, making the film all the more poignant; the outstanding success also emphatically shows the public’s support for Martyn, the incredible riding, and the consensus from viewers that the sequel is even better than the original Road Bike Party film.
Three More Films
Martyn is today very pleased to confirm that there will be three further exciting, entertaining, and insightful films detailing how his special Colnago bike was built, the Road Bike Party 2 outtakes, and a documentary chronicling the making of the film.
• The film of Martyn’s bike build is released today
• The outtakes film will released next week.
• The making of Road Bike Party 2 documentary will be released in the new year.
Martyn has been genuinely overwhelmed by the support he and the film have received so far: “It’s been absolutely fantastic, I can’t say how happy I am as I never expected such an unbelievable response! As happy as I am, I really can’t take all the credit as I simply couldn’t have finished the film without the incredibly selfless support of both Chris Akrigg and Danny MacAskill. Thank you guys. Also, thank you to all the media who have helped get the word out: it’s been a great sign off.”
The support for Martyn in such an extremely difficult time has made him even more determined for his career and the party to continue and, although, Road Bike Party 2 is his last ever riding film, he is not done yet. Not by a long shot.
About Road Bike Party 2
Road Bike Party 2 sees mountain bike trials World Champion Ashton take a £15,000 carbon fibre Colnago C59 Disc road bike and push it and his riding abilities right to the edge. Before filming could be completed, however, Ashton was left paralysed following an accident during a trials demo and had to call on friends, Danny MacAskill and Chris Akrigg, to help finish the film. The result is the bike equivalent of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, with three sensational riders pushing a road bike way beyond what was ever thought possible.
