Longo and Paez score double at Val di Sole Marathon

Tony Longo
achieved an outstanding win in Val di Sole Marathon’s premiere edition, a 60-km race in Malè (Northern Italy), on Sunday, September 15th. TX Active-Bianchi’s Italian, riding Methanol SL2, celebrated his fifth seasonal win outdistancing teammate Leonardo Paez on Methanol 27,5 SL. Longo attacked in the early slopes of the longest climb of the day, taking the solo lead and managing his advantage (2:55 on the finish line) in the last kilometers. Johann Pallhuber rounded-out the podium with a 3:47 gap.

The Val di Sole Marathon marks the fourteenth seasonal win of the TX Active-Bianchi’s Elite/U23 team in GF and Marathon races (25 including XC events), in a year that saw the Team taking the Under 23 World title at XC World Championships with Kerschbaumer and the bronze medal with Paez at Marathon Worlds.
